As a quick answer, April 2012.
But it really began several years ago. Around 2009, while I was serving my mission in Argentina I decided I wanted to study how the scriptures relate to the modern research. I thought I would write a book called “1,000 Hidden Treasures in The Book of Mormon.” After I returned home from my mission I began writing what now were are Scripture News articles.
At the beginning of 2012, I started spending time learning how to create websites with WordPress, HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP. One of my classes allowed me to write articles for my project. My big brother mentored me in fixing the problems I encountered. In April I decided to dish out some money and bought the Zenko WP Zoom theme for about $69.
I hope to write 1000s of articles, so Scripture News becomes the go-to place for religious peple to see how Christianity applies to secular news. I hope it becomes an online discussion over the scriptures and in inspires people to talk about God and religion more. I want to bring religion into all aspects of life.
My lovely wife has helped me the most, providing great feedback and reading each of my posts. My coworkers also have helped me immensely in hearing me ramble on about my website ideas. They’ve given me great ideas for blog posts, ideas regarding what I can do to improve the website and how I can attract more visitors. Online readers have helped me as well with their insightful comments and feedback. I welcome any feedback you might have to improve the website!
As you probably guessed, I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon). I know Jesus Christ is our Savior. I feel so privileged and blessed to know I can live with my family forever. God lives and He has all power to bless us if we will but follow Him.
There are several ways. Feel free to contribute your ideas and experiences to articles. Also, feel welcome to write a guest article following the format of the articles- containing a scripture, interesting open source photo, an informative post on a subject relating to the scripture and a little personal insight as to your own personal beliefs or experiences relating to the topic.
